Hipo 289 rebuild and restoration
In preparation for our new floor we have to brace the Mustang's internal body work. This will ensure the secure and correct placement of all items when the old floor is cut away.
Now that the car is firmly on the rotisserie I have started removal of undercoating while Richard has begun removal of the patch panels from the car's 1980's restoration,
I decided to use VIP sandblasting again. They did a great job on my R-Model replica so I delivered the K code for paint and rust removal.
The car has been disassembled for inspection. We have found far more original rust and collision repair and damage then first thought. Good news is that the fenders and quarter panels that have been replaced have been with NOS FORD parts.
It's been nearly 15 years since my father and I a 1965 K Code Convertible. Since that time the car has been transported from Dallas to LA where now it will undergo a full restoration.
